    MTB Between Volcanoes

    Mountain Bike – Tour entre volcanes:

    If you are a lover of mountain biking this tour is for you as it has all the adrenaline that can give you the descent of these two giants surrounded by natural landscapes.

    Our route will be 45 kilometers from an 85 percent descent and a 15 percent intermediate ascent, not before an hour’s walk through the crater of the Irazú volcano. 

    At the beginning of our adventure we will prepare your equipment which consists of gloves, helmet, bicycle number 29 with hydraulic braking system this accompanied by our guides and an escort car which has hydration and tropical fruits that we will enjoy along the way. 

    In the course of the tour we will pass on the route that connects the Irazú and Turrialba volcanoes as well as the villages of Santa Cruz de Turrialba, where a delicious lunch typical of the area awaits us as well as the coffee-growing town of Aquiares famous for its beautiful waterfall in which ends our adventure.

    Accompany to enjoy an adventure morning on a MTB tour through the mountains of Santa Cruz de Turrialba to the archaeological guava monument.

    This half day activity is the perfect combination between adrenaline and local culture as we take you through the mountainous area of ​​Turrialba enjoying majestic views and dairies of this area until you reach a guava where our guides will take you for a walk through this beautiful archaeological monument in which we will know more about our ancient civilizations.

    During the tour we will be accompanied by our guides and escort car which has hydration and tropical fruits. As well as at the end of our visit to the monument we can have a delicious lunch at a restaurant in the area.

    The Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) is one of the world’s leading institutions devoted to research and graduate education in tropical agriculture and the management, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. CATIE is the global repository of all tomato and pepper seeds, and has the most important collection of coffee and cocoa plants in the world.

    To begin our adventure we will be a walk along the paths of the botanical garden of the catie accompanied by our guide who will give you a review of the plant spices in the place. this to later begin our journey in our bicycles.

    The tour goes through the plantations of coffee, cocoa, sugar cane, citrus, banana, banana, macadamia, pineapple, mangosteen, mango, avocado and many other exotic species from tropical countries around the world. Thanks to the diversity of flowers and fruits, the plantation is also an ideal place for the observation of birds, mammals and some reptiles.

    The topography of the trails we use is suitable for ages from 8 years and up always accompanied by our guides and escort car with hydration and fruit.

    At the end of our tour we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant in the area.
